“Télé Luxembourg”, which started in 1955, was one of the first commercial and private TV-channels in Europe. At the beginning, it had limited capital and it started nearly from scratch. So they started to recruit people such as Jacques Navadic from “Télé-Lille”, a regional station of the French TV.
The journalist Jacques Navadic started to work for this channel as chief editor for the “Journal de Télé-Luxembourg” in 1955. The objective of this journal in French was to present the international, French and Luxemburgish news. This journal broadcast every evening was only a short part of the programme of “Télé Luxembourg”.
“Télé Luxembourg” broadcasted not only in Luxembourg. It was also received in a radius of approximately 150 km around the Grand Duchy. That includes Lorraine and a part of Wallonia.
