In October 1991 the dominical channel “Hei Elei, Kuck Elei” was replaced by a daily program in Luxemburgish, namely the “RTL Hei Elei”. This was due to the initiative of the Luxemburgish government. Jacques Santer, the Luxemburgish prime minister from 1984 to 1995, had namely this request.

The radiation of “RTL Hei Elei” started on the 21th October 1991. Jean Octave, the main host and editor of the “Hei Elei, Kuck Elei”, remained with the new channel as main editor. But Maurice Molitor and Sandie Lahure presented now the TV-news of the evening.
