From the studios on 38 Hertford Street, London, the famous 2-0-8 Radio Luxembourg also known as “The station of the stars” inspired a whole generation all over Europe. Programmes were recorded there, then shipped to Luxembourg, where some shows were also broadcast live. The station was famous for broadcasting rock and popular music and for offering an animated, colourful and new program.
Benny Brown the first American presenter, joined the station in 1979. From the studios at Villa Louvigny, he presented the news in combination with rock music. Benny Brown was very popular and was even nominated by Billboard Magazine as International Radio Personality of the Year.
After leaving the Station in 1985, Benny Brown was asked to rejoin RTL in 2005. From 2005 to 2015 he returned with the Benny Brown Show and became the last remaining figure from 2-0-8 Radio Luxembourg.
