„Methodology” is traditionally the science or theory of scientific methods. Thinking about „methodology” typically means thinking about the different ways on how to gain knowledge in a certain science, and how those methods have changed and can be changed. „Methodology” is thus a concept not only applicable to digital history, but it is a universal concept applicable to every science. However, as digital history is a recent scientific method, people making inquiries in this field have to develop a new „methodology” in order to create new methods that are appropriated to this new science. As „methodology” is a metascience, meaning that it is only conceptual and in itself not hands-on, the idea would be to create a general research methog for digital humanities (and other digital sciences), which would make interdisciplinary collaboration easier, method-wise like and support-wise like.
