Record

A record is something that was written down or recorded onto a specific platform and stored at a certain point of time, so that it could be used in the future. The new technologies allow for a more versatile way of preserving data and an improved accessibility to these records. Furthermore, an official or authentic copy of an important document can also be described as a record.

Records can have an interesting function in the creation of historic projects, namely when making use of the new technology that is available nowadays. Video recordings can be edited with specialized software into creative and informative movies. Audio recordings can be used as well to start podcasts with History as the main subject.

Since most of the records done today are stored in a digitized format, these records can be used in digital humanities as an additional source to insert into the numerous digital tools found on the internet.
